Sex, Women, and Looking and Feeling Younger with Dr. Julissa Hernandez, ND, CNHP

GREENJKTSex as a part of our lives is at the most basic, elemental center of our being. Most women have some sort of sexual dysfunction. And these sexual dysfunction challenges range between: Poor or No Orgasm, Low Libido, Frigidity, Vaginal Atrophy, and more. Sexual dysfunction challenges are not something that is occurring now in today’s day and age. Women (and Men) at all times in history have felt the need for help in the sexual area. But some women have figured out a way to enjoy healthy sex with their partners again, and look and feel younger without prescription drugs and conventional medical procedures. In this seminar, Dr. Julissa discusses the specific reasons behind the most common sexual dysfunction challenges among women, their impact emotionally, and suggests natural therapy solutions to overcome these so women can enjoy life to the fullest in love, health and intimacy.

Kegels and Giggles: A Healthy Girl’s Guide to Pelvic Fitness with Caryn M. Horsley

carynWhat are the problems associated with weak pelvic floor muscles? How do kegels help? How does strong pelvic muscles improve your quality of life?

I will discuss how kegels play a vital role in every woman’s fitness regime, especially:

  • Pre- and post-pregnant women
  • Women who suffer from stress or urge incontinence
  • Athletes involved in high impact sports
  • Pre- and post-pelvic surgery patients
  • Post-menopausal women

As a Personal Trainer/Fitness Specialist the human body is my area of expertise and interest.  I understand the importance of keeping our muscles toned.  Like many women, I experienced insecurity and suffered from vaginal muscles that were too weak.  I tried to do kegels but would always lose interest.  I realized I needed the satisfaction that comes from physical feedback and I also needed something to motivate me.

I researched the market to see what I could find.  I was completely appalled!  There were devices that looked sexual in nature with parts that protruded outside of the body when used, and others that consisted of tubes and gauges.  Using them meant hiding myself in the bedroom to exercise privately.  Who has time for that?  Seriously!

Happy kegeling!  You’ll be glad you did!

The Complete Guide to Balancing Women’s Health Naturallyis with Dr. Thomas J. Ianniello

10430905_1363675696997646_1539595708232858597_nAre you tired? Do you feel cranky? Do you have trouble falling asleep or have interrupted sleep? Join us as we address these common issues that we often ignore. Dr. Thomas Ianniello D.C. will explain how balancing your hormones can improve your energy, quality of sleep, and overall mood. He will demonstrate through examination how he uncovers nutritional deficiencies that have led to stress on the female system. He will give participants a complete understanding of the cause of symptoms that occur during PMS and menopause. He will then discuss how he evaluates women through multiple methods, including saliva testing through functional lab analysis, as well as a program evaluation of diet, detoxification, rehabilitative exercise and nervous system stress reduction.

Dr. Thomas J. Ianniello is a 1992 Graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He has been in private practice in his Miller Place, New York healing center, North Isle Wellness Center, since September, 1993. Additionally, he is a Master Clinician in the art of Nutrition Response Testing, a level reached by only 400 doctors globally to find root causes of nutritional deficiencies by a physical, non-invasive examination. In 2014, he became certified in the Instinct Based Medicine System of healing to address deep rooted stress related illness. This system was created and developed by Dr. Ianniello’s friend and mentor, Dr. Leonard Coldwell, a leading alternative Cancer cure expert for 40 years with 35,000 documented cured patients with stage 4 cancer.

Who is the Fitter Woman? with Orlandina Balan, MsED, IFBB Pro, NASM Certified PT

ShareThe Fitter Woman lives within every one of us.  Our charge in this life is to nurture her development and growth. The Fitter Woman is not solely defined as a state of physical fitness; she is a balance of physical, emotional and spiritual wellness.

The Fitter Woman is one who has been made whole through her life’s journey.  She has been forged by life’s joys and pain, as well as by life’s successes and challenges. She has defined herself, her purpose, her wants, her needs and her desires.  The Fitter Woman has freed herself of the confines of what society has dictated to be the picture of perfection. Though she may be inspired by others, The Fitter Woman NEVER seeks to imitate or duplicate.  The Fitter Woman celebrates and embraces her own uniqueness.

Although she always seeks to improve, The Fitter Woman strives only to be a healthier and happier version of herself. This is because The Fitter Woman is at peace with herself and her life choices.

– Be Fitter, Healthier and Happier

How is the Fitter Woman created?

The Fitter Woman is one who has been broken down to her finer parts and made herself whole. She is not flawless but she is beautiful.  She walks with confidence and grace.  Every blemish, scar and imperfection tells a story of her bravery and strength.  In the process of rebuilding herself, she has learned who she truly is and what she desires in life.   This woman has accepted and embraced all aspects of her life journey; the joys and the challenges.  By her journey’s end she has  learned every complex facet of herself and indoctrinated in what I refer to as the tenets of womanhood.

I entitled these tenets of womanhood  as the Tenets of the Fitter Woman. The Tenets of the Fitter Woman affirms the belief women must practice self care and attend to their needs first.  In doing so, they will be better able to help those dependent upon them. i.e. significant others, children, families, friends etc…

One of the most pressing concerns and or challenges most of my clients (and most women I speak to) is the lack of time for themselves.  As women are the center of their household; everything and everyone in the family revolves around them. If she is well and happy, then so will her family be. However, there needs to be a balance between responsibility to their families, careers etc and responsibility to themselves. Many women find it difficult to re-prioritize; they view it as the complete antithesis of womanhood.  Some have even admitted to having feelings of guilt when attending to their own personal needs or desires.  When they do try to “escape” and get some desperately needed me-time, their minds start racing and they start thinking about the other tasks they should be completing. It becomes overwhelming and they pay the cost with their health and wellbeing.

What is My Purpose and How Do I Get There? with Theresa Venezi

TVenezia_Headshot• Do you feel called to do something Greater than what you are doing now?

The story of Brody’s battle! with Keely E Harris, President/Founder g6pd Deficiency Foundation

This story will be told in hopes to increase awareness of g6pd Deficiency, an enzyme deficiency that should be known as a health issue in every household.

The g6pd Deficiency Foundation (g6pdDF) was started to promote awareness of the genetic disorder g6pd Deficiency because of a baby boy named Brody. Brody’s lifetime battle of health complications could have been avoided if this enzyme deficiency was considered at time of his birth. The foundation’s mission is to prevent this from happening to another family. Recent fundraising efforts have allowed us to start developing a website that will provide accurate up to date information regarding g6pd enzyme deficiency (g6pdD.) This program will create a community of support for those affected by g6pdD, and the medical personnel treating g6pdD.

We hope to create an environment where ideas are exchanged to guide the g6pd Deficiency Foundation’s success. This success will promote education and research that will benefit awareness. Our fundraising efforts will help achieve our goals for the necessary screening for this deficiency. Remember; many have it (10% of the world’s population), few know they do!  The story of Brody’s Battle shall become renown to bring forth awareness of g6pdD, an important health issue for families. Help us spread the word!

keelyheadshot 300Keely E Harris actively started a 501C-3 non-for profit foundation to bring awareness of the enzyme deficiency that affects 10% of the world’s population. I’m also involved as a volunteer/board member in several community organizations on Long Island. Experienced in running fundraisers to raise funding & awareness for breast cancer & children athletics.  Previously employed as IVF Research Technician for over 10 years. I worked side by side with fertility specialist at: University of Penn Medical School and LI IVF. Received a BS degree majoring in Biochemistry from SUNY Stony Brook in 1982.

Nothing is more rewarding to me than having a healthy family; husband, three children, daughter n law and a grandson. My education & hands on experiences will help me orchestrate the foundation in a direction of success so many can be healthy!

farrahMessage from GEWWC Founder:

“I welcome you to GEWWC. The conference started from a passion of mine to bring women together to share, empower and educate each other in a loving environment. I am always thrilled to hear from our guests on how they have made lifelong friendships, experienced healing and felt safe enough to be themselves. To be in the room with such powerful women is rare and definitely something to cherish.”

This September we look forward to the 7th Annual Gaia’s Essence Women’s Wellness Conference (GEWWC). For the past six years, the event has been a source of empowerment to women on Long Island. This year the theme “Your Perception Your Reality” reminds us of the importance of our perception on creating the world we would like to create for ourselves.

The conference continues to grow and expand to be one of the top events on Long Island. We have expanded a new Author Alley section featuring local authors as well as a Non For Profit Pavillon showcasing local organizations who need the support from the community. For the little ones we have an exciting addition the “Gaia’s Kids Room”. An exclusive area for kids to attend cooking classes conducted by Whole Foods, mommy and me yoga, art, hula hoops, music and science classes taught by some of the top teachers.

Lift each other up…Real Women Empower!
